RedEarth operates with the belief that electricity will be the primary energy source in the future, and that every business and residence can generate more clean, green electricity than it can consume – meaning they can financially capitalise on their excess solar energy.
AS/NZS 5139:2019 equipment The CopperHead must only be installed by suitably qualified personnel who have read and are familiar with its operation and hazards. The battery provided with this system must be charged only by the Selectronics inverter. Do not attempt to charge the batteries with any other charger device or connect any devices directly to the DC battery bus unless approved by RedEarth.
(either 2-wire auto start or manual start), or the grid for grid-connected systems. The CopperHead is designed to be installed outside in a shaded area. It has an IP54 rating and Is fitted with two replaceable air- conditioners for hotter climates. A changeover switch is included in case there is a problem with the system. In this case the loads are run solely off a generator (or the grid) until the system is operational again.

Ensure the air vents on the doors are kept clear at all times. IMPORTANT: Before positioning the CopperHead, be sure that there is an available area of 1700 x 3800 x 2500 (H x W x D). This will allow a minimum of 90⁰ open door angle as well as walkway clearance.
OFF. With the CopperHead in place, rotate the handles on the doors counter clockwise to open the doors. Remove the Control covers by unscrewing all identified screws shown in the picture. By doing this, you will have access to all AC and DC, wire connection terminals and the “Comm’s Area”.

The CopperHead contains a 12volt trickle charger to keep the generator's starter battery charged as well as a 2-wire AutoStart feature. There are four terminals in the Comms area of the CopperHead. These terminals are shown in the Image at right and can be identified as, ...
The solar PV inverters are all attached external to the system. The AC cables, as well as the communication cable are brought into the CopperHead through the 25, or 32mm holes on the left-hand side of the unit using the supplied plain to screwed adapters, or through the plate on the bottom left-hand side of the CopperHead (as shown in 'Positioning the CopperHead').
Cat5/6 cable through one of the holes in the side of the CopperHead and connecting it to the LAN terminal on the RUT240 device as shown here. RedEarth can also assist in obtaining a Starlink satellite internet connection.
The following shutdown procedure should be followed. This procedure is also displayed on a sticker placed between the inverters. The system is correctly earthed, either via the customer’s local earth or through a locally installed earth stake. If a 2-wire auto-start generator is connected, ensure that it can be started by the CopperHead. Also ensure the supplied Victron battery charger is connected to the generator starter battery.
Air-conditioning Your CopperHead is fitted with two air-conditioning units on the left and right-side doors to ensure that it is running at optimal temperature which reduces the risk of overheating and premature failure, meaning that just like the serpent it is named after, it will continue to operate where most others would perish.
In the event that the air-conditioning unit fails, it has been designed to be easily replaced as outlined below: 1. Cut the cable ties that attach the cable to the roof inside the CopperHead. 2. Unplug the cable from the power point.
