Nextel Voice Mail Tree
This section covers the most commonly used Voice Mail features. Once you log
into Voice Mail, there are a number of innovative features you can access. They
are also covered in this section. After you access Voice Mail, an automated
system tells you each menu option and which button to press to make a menu
selection. See "Nextel Voice Mail Tree" on page 98.
Setting Up Your Voice Mail Box
You must set up your Voice Mail box before you can listen to messages. The
following steps will tell you how to setup your mailbox. Before getting started,
see "Recording Your Active Greeting" on page 89 for information you may
want to include in your greeting.
1
Using your Nextel phone, dial your 10-digit Nextel Personal Telephone
Number (PTN). For example: 7035557777.
If you are calling from a phone other than your i85s phone, dial your
10-digit Nextel Personal Telephone Number (PTN). When you hear the
greeting, press * to access your Voice Mail box.
2
The system will prompt you to Enter your password. Enter the last
seven digits of your Nextel Personal Telephone Number. For example:
5557777. This is your temporary password.
