(fig. 2)
Always check that the safety switch is in the OFF position.
Plug the charging plug (G) into the micro USB connector (E) located on the back of the product (fig. 2A).
Charging with an adapter: connect the power cable (F) to the adapter and connect it to a mains socket (fig. 2B);
or
charging by USB: connect the power cable (F) to a USB slot.
Note: when charging the power button (C) remains on until the battery has finished charging. It takes about 30 minutes for the battery to charge, whether using an adapter or charging it from a computer.
Disconnect the lighter as soon as it finishes charging to avoid excess voltage, which could reduce the life span of the battery. The battery housed in the lighter has a long life span and cannot be replaced by the end user. If necessary, refer to your trusted Alessi dealer.
Take hold of the lighter and change the position of the safety switch (D) located on the back of the lighter to ON (fig. 3A).
Bring the tips - located on top of the thermoplastic rubber shaft (B) - near the object you wish to light, press the central power button and hold for a few seconds. The power button will light up to show that the lighter is in operation (fig. 3B).
A high-temperature electric arc will be visible between the two tips and will light the given object. A light buzzing sound "zee zee" (fig. 3C) will also be heard. For safety purposes, the electric arc will turn off automatically after a maximum of 8 seconds.
After having used the lighter, return the safety switch to the OFF position.
The "Firebird 2.0" is a self-standing lighter; place it in a vertical position after use. Thanks to the long shaft, the lighter can be used to light candles, incense, paper, gas hobs and other rapidly combustible materials, even when they are in hard to reach positions.
Do not bend the shaft (B) at a 90° angle Do not use the electric arc lighter to light plastic or rubber materials as these may melt and keep the lighter from functioning properly.
The lighter can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Always check that the safety switch is in the OFF position before cleaning.
Always disconnect the device from the mains.
Use a soft dry cloth to clean the electric arc lighter.
Remove any ash or residue from the tips to guarantee that it will operate correctly; be careful not to damage the terminals housed inside the tips.
Do not subject the terminals present in the ceramic tips to mechanical stress.
Do not use on plastic or rubbery materials, which may melt and interfere with the functionality of the product.
