5 Communications – Data and Alarms

Input/Output Interface Hardware

The input/output (I/O) connections to the analyzer are accessible on the internal interface plate, as shown in
Figure 30 below. Depending on the options installed, the analyzer may have one or all of the connections listed
below:

Ethernet (RJ-45)
·
Modbus/TCP (RJ-45)
·
USB
·
4–20 mA analog out (5.08 mm green screw-terminal blocks).

The maximum length
runs are required, use active hardware, such as repeaters or switches, as necessary. See
installation guidelines.

For
100BaseTX networking (100 MHz bandwidth), Cat 5 cables with RJ-45 connections are sufficient.
·
For 10GBASE-T (10-Gigabit Ethernet), Cat 6 cables are required for improved performance to 250 MHz
bandwidth.
