Step 1
Get the Interface Cable from the main iCruze package.
This Interface Cable has a separate yellow wire that needs
to be connected to constant 12 volt power. This should be available
from the car stereo wire harness. Consult your car's factory service
manual for the location of this wire. An MECP certified installation
professional can also help.
To prevent cutting the car's wire harness, a T-Tap-type connector
is recommended (be certain to use the proper size T-Tap to ensure
a reliable connection).
Step 2
WARNING:
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE THIS CONNECTION UNLESS
YOU HAVE THE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE TO DO SO.
INCORRECT CONNECTIONS MAY CAUSE MALFUNCTION OF CAR
STEREO AND OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEM COMPONENTS. CONSULT
AN MECP CERTIFIED INSTALLER IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE TOOLS
OR KNOWLEDGE TO MAKE THIS CONNECTION.
Connect the free end of the yellow wire to constant power.
Step 3
The Interface Cable from the iCruze
box (steps 1-3) plugs into the "OEM
Interface" port on iCruze with
the rectangular or Molex ® end, while
the other round end goes directly
into the Interface Module IM-TOY1.
Step 4
The Interface Cables in the Interface
Module IM-TOY1 package look
like a 'T'. One is the Interface
Cable for 2003-2005 vehicles
(152175), the other is for 1998-2002
vehicles (156797).
