524 Remote Keypad - Installation Guide

Introduction

The 524 Remote Keypad is designed to work with the 500r+ and 690R
wirefree alarm system control units. The keypad can accept a user code from
three to eight digits long and allows the user to set and unset the alarm
system, and if necessary activate a PA (Panic Alarm). If you have a 690R
then you can also use the keypad to reset the alarm system.
At installation the engineer makes the control unit learn the identity of the
keypad in the same way as other alarm system peripherals.
On the 500r+ The control unit stores the keypad's identity in the same "hid-
den" zone as the 525r telecommands. Since the 500r+ can learn up to six
telecommands, this means that with the introduction of the keypad the 500r+
can learn any mixture of keypads, 502 PAs, or telecommands provided the
total number of devices does not exceed six.
On the 690R you can learn a remote keypad on any zone and are only
limited by the amount of radio zones on the panel.
The keypad requires two AAA batteries (not provided). A fresh set of batter-
ies should last for for approximately 14 months.
