Before using your new product, please read these instructions to prevent any damage.
GENERAL INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
• It is normal for black carbon particles to appear on the outside of your
filter. This happens when the filter is moved during shipping. It is safe,
simply wipe it off.
• The filter connectors are large to prevent leaks. You might have
to twist the filter hard to make sure the connection is secure.
INSTALLING YOUR WATER FILTER
To drink the freshest and cleanest water from your refrigerator, change
the filter every six months or when the icon starts blinking.
1 Shut off the water supply, then turn off the water shutoff valve on
your refrigerator.
2 Turn the old water filter about 1/4 turn counter-clockwise, then pull
the filter out of the filter holder. Depending on water impurities, you
may have to pull hard to remove the filter.
Note: When you pull out the water filter, a little water may leak from the
opening. This is normal. To minimize the water leakage, keep the filter
horizontal when you pull it out.
3 Pull out the water filter tray, then empty the tray. Dry around the filter
opening with a dry cloth, then put the tray back in.
4 Insert the new water filter into the water filter holder.
5 While turning the new filter clockwise, push it all the way into the
holder until it locks into place.
6 Turn on the shutoff valve and the water supply, then run water
through the dispenser until the water runs clear (about five minutes).
This cleans the water supply system and removes any trapped air.
7 Open the refrigerator door and make sure that no water leaks from
the water filter.
Note: If leaks occur, repeat the installation steps. If leaks persist, discontinue
use and call customer service.
8 After you install the new filter, press and hold both the On/Off and
Super Freeze buttons for about three seconds to turn off the

PROBLEM SOLUTION
My refrigerator is not • Make sure that you soak your filter in water for 15 minutes before installing.
dispensing water • Make sure that the filter is securely connected to the filter holder. Do not use
tools to tighten the filter in place.
• Make sure that the water line to the refrigerator is turned on. The valve must
be completely open for the refrigerator to receive water.
• Make sure that the refrigerator door is closed or the dispenser will not work.
My water dispenser is • A few drops are normal. If the water is dripping constantly, have a service
dripping technician check your refrigerator's water valve.
My water is cloudy or • Cloudy water is caused by microscopic air bubbles. Run two to three gallons
