USE

Setup for new power line network connection

• In room A, plug in your NS 6701A into the power outlet and connect it to your router's Ethernet port by using an Ethernet cable.
• In Room B, plug your NS 6711A device into the power outlet. You may connect any device (e.g. computer / notebook) to its Ethernet port and you may also connect any of your wireless devices via Wi Fi (SSID and password is printed on the label sticker located at the top surface of your NS 6711A)
• If a power line connection is established successfully, the power and power line activity LED's will light up green.

Manual configuring wireless settings (Optional)

• Connect an Ethernet cable from the PC to one of the Ethernet ports of the NS 6711A.
• Turn off the wireless adapter on your computer (if applicable)
• Open your web browser, type 192.168.1.10 in the browser's url bar and then hit the enter key.
• Enter admin for the username and admin for password.
• Click the network tab and select WLAN SETTINGS from the submenu to modify the wireless settings.
• After changing the preferred settings, click the save button to apply changes.

Setup for an existing power line network connection

• If you want to add your NS 6711A and NS 6701A devices to your existing network, simply plug in the device to any wall socket; by default it will pair up with your Topcom devices. once paired, your device is ready to use.
• When you've changed the private network name of your existing network, you can use the simple connect button to pair your devices with your old Topcom devices, as indicated below.
  • Press the simple connect button on the new device for approximately 10 seconds, until the power LED turns off and back on again.
  • Press the simple connect button on the old device for approximately two seconds. The power LED will start blinking.
  • Again press the simple connect button on the new device for approximately two seconds. The power LED will start blinking and the power line activity LED will be on steady green, indicating a successful pairing between the two devices.

NOTE: device pairing can only be done one at a time.

Using the WPS function to setup a wireless network connection (Optional)

• Press the WPS button on the NS 6711A for two seconds; the wireless LED will start to blink slowly.
• Press the WPS button on the device that you wish to connect to your NS 6711A.

NOTE: these steps needs to be completed within 2 minutes.

Configuring wireless frequency (either 2.4Ghz or 5.0Hhz)

• Type in 192.168.1.10 on the web browser.
• Click the network tab and select 'WLAN SETTINGS' from the submenu.
• Select the preferred mode on the mode dropdown list (it can either be 2.4Ghz or 5.0Ghz).
  NOTE: by default, wireless frequency mode is set at 2.4Ghz
• After changing the frequency mode, click the 'Save' button to apply the changes.
  NOTE: The web user interface is designed to configure the NS 6711A.
• To configure your NS 6701A, kindly install the software which is available from the included resource CD or download it from www.service.tristar.eu.

Device reset

• To restore the NS 6711A to its factory default settings, press the WPS button for approximately 5 seconds. The LEDs will turn off and back on again to indicate the reset of the device.
• To restore the NS 6701A to its factory default settings, press the simple connect button for approximately 5 seconds. The power line LED will turn off to indicate the reset of the device.

In addition, the original purchase (invoice, sales slip or receipt) is to be submitted with the date of purchase, the name of the retailer and the item number of the product.
