The steam trap testing system consists of the data collector VKPN 40Ex or VKPN 40, the measuring transducer VKPS 40Ex and the software for data management on the PC. The VKP 40Ex or VKP 40 can check and evaluate all types and makes of steam traps for loss of live steam and banking-up of condensate.
This unit is fixed to the bottom of the equipment by means of 4 screws. In order to exchange the battery this whole unit has to be replaced by a genuine GESTRA AG spare part.

Upon insertion of the TRAPtest software CD the installation program starts automatically. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation. The installation setup creates the folder GESTRA where the TRAPtest VKP 40 program will be stored. An new program icon is created on the desktop.

Data Exchange between PC and Data Collector VKPN 40Ex or VKPN 40 Attention If the power supply unit is not connected the data collector cannot communicate with the PC. The menu DATA COLLECTOR enables the communication between the data collector and the PC and the organization of the data collector via PC.
Checking Steam Traps Test In the menu TEST steam traps can be checked for loss of live steam – provided that data records and test tasks have been entered previously on the PC. The test results will be saved. Note During the test the measuring transducer VKPS 40Ex also measures the surface temperature of the steam trap.
