Short Installation and Operating Manual

Introduction
The Short Installation and Operating Manual is an integral part of this device. It contains important
information for the safe installation and use of the device. More detailed information - see QR-Code
at the beginning. Hand over all documents when passing on the device to third parties.
Intended use
The camera CAM55/55W/80CM/80AHD is designed for installation at vehicles and use by the
vehicle driver. Installation may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
In connection with a suitable video system the camera is intended to be used as an additional aid for
reversing the vehicle.
General instructions for installation
• Before installation disconnect the vehicle's electrical system. If there is an additional battery in
the vehicle, disconnect it as well. Note that after reconnection settings such as the radio code
and the clock of the vehicle will have to be set anew as described in the appropriate operating
instructions.
• Choose a mounting place at the back of the vehicle that is sufficiently firm and rigid. In case of
doubt, consult the vehicle manufacturer or dealer.
• Attach the camera so securely that it cannot under any circumstances fall off and injure bystanders
(e.g. in case of sudden braking or branches brushing over the roof of the vehicle).
• The most secure type of attachment is with screws fitted through the body. When using screws
with nuts, there must be sufficient space for the mounting procedure behind the chosen
mounting place.
• Lay the cable so that should you need to remove the camera, you can access the plug connection
between the camera and the extension cable easily.
• Use original openings for the cable duct, e.g. the paneling edges, ventilation grilles or blank
panels. If no openings are available, you must drill holes for the cable. Check beforehand that
there is sufficient room for the drill head to come out on the other side. Deburr all drill holes and
treat them with a rust-protection agent.
• Wherever possible lay the cable inside the vehicle. Attach the cable securely to prevent tripping
hazards and mechanical wear. Use cable binders, insulating tape or glue the cables in place.
Ensure that there is sufficient distance to hot or moving vehicle components (exhaust pipes,
drive shafts, light systems, fans, heater etc.). The cable must not be exposed to solvents such as
benzine.
• Prevent water penetrating through any holes made (e.g. by using screws and sealant and/or
spraying the outer attachment parts with a sealant).
• If installing the camera alters the vehicle height or length specified in the vehicle documents, your
vehicle must be inspected by the appropriate authorities. Make sure that you are in possession of
documents verifying that your vehicle has passed this inspection.
