To ensure a safe working environment during the installation and operation of the NUCR, the following safety symbols appear throughout this document to indicate dangerous conditions and important safety instructions.

INSTALLATION GUIDE Mounting Card Reader (NUCR-HE) Mounting The NUCR has an IP40 ingress protection. The areas where NUCRs are to be installed must be clean, dry, and weatherproof. The walls should be finished (painted, wall papered, tiled, etc.) before the devices are installed.

INSTALLATION GUIDE Mounting Card Reader (NUCR-HE) For the tamper switch to function, the module should be mounted right on the plastic plate. The working distance of the switch is approximately 1mm (0.04 in). Place the two provided screw caps over the screw holes. Orient them correctly. The caps have a small protrusion that fits neatly into the small indentation of the module, see detail below.

INSTALLATION GUIDE Terminating the Room Bus RJ45 Connectors Card Reader (NUCR-HE) Terminating the Room Bus RJ45 Connectors The NUCR includes two active room bus RJ45 sockets. Crimp the RJ45 connector(s) to the room bus cable(s) using the Ethernet T-568B termination color scheme. The following figure shows the correct pinout for terminating the active room bus cables.
