Appendix A: Service Information

Warranty Service

Details concerning Warranty Service are spelled out in the Warranty section on
page 38.
If you think your Onyx FireWire card has a problem, please do everything you can to
confirm it before calling for service. Doing so might save you from the deprivation
of your Onyx mixer and the associated suffering.

Troubleshooting

No Audio into your Computer
Confirm that the Onyx mixer is receiving mic or line-level input signals (the
signal LEDs next to the fader should be lighting up).
Make sure the correct driver is selected in the DAW. In Tracktion, this is
selected in the Settings tab under Audio Devices.
If the mixer seems fine and you are using Tracktion, click Restart Device in
the Settings tab under Audio Devices. Other DAW software applications may
have a similar button.
In Tracktion, be sure the correct inputs are selected and the tracks are armed.
Restart your mixer and computer.
Reinstall the drivers from the CD.
Glitchy/Distorted Audio into your Computer
Increase the latency setting.
Tracktion: Click the Settings tab and then click Audio Devices. On the PC,
click the "show ASIO control panel" button and increase the latency setting.
On the Mac, increase the latency slider.
In other applications, find the control panel to increase the ASIO (PC) or
Core Audio (Mac) latency setting.
Inputs Reversed with Two Mixers
Turn on the mixers in reverse order, exactly as you did when installing the
drivers.
