Before you start using it

• Please make sure to read the instruction manual carefully.
  This information will help you to familiarise yourself with your new device, to learn all of its functions and parts, to find out important details about its first use, how to operate it and how to get advice in the event of a breakdown.
• By following the instruction manual you will avoid damaging your instrument and losing your statutory rights because of defects arising from its incorrect use.

• This product is exclusively intended for the field of application described above. It should only be used as described within these instructions.
• Unauthorised repairs, modifications or changes to the product are prohibited.
• Before starting a treatment or diet discuss with your doctor first.

Risk of injury:

• Do not stand on the scale with wet feet and especially not when the surface of the scale is wet. There is a dangerous risk of slipping.
• Do not step on the edge of the scale: Danger of tilting!
• Keep the product and the batteries out of the reach of children.
• Batteries must not be thrown into a fire, short-circuited, taken apart or recharged. Risk of explosion!
• Batteries contain harmful acids. Low batteries should be changed as soon as possible to prevent damage caused by a leak. Never use a combination of old and new batteries together, or batteries of different types.
• Wear chemical-resistant protective gloves and safety glasses when handling leaking batteries.

• Do not place the unit near extreme temperatures, vibrations or shocks.
• Do not place any objects on the unit.
• Protect it from humidity.

Set up and operation

• Open the battery compartment at the back and insert the three batteries 1.5 V AA with the polarity as indicated.
• Your scale is now ready to use.
• 88:88.8 appears on the display.
• Press the KG/LB button at the back and select your desired weight unit.
• Place the scale on a flat solid surface.
• In order to switch on the scale, just stand on the platform.
• The backlight turns on.
• After a few seconds your measured weight will be displayed in kg (default) or in the weighting unit you have set.
• The measuring process is finished as soon as your weight flashes on the display.
• The weight remains on the display after leaving the scale.
• The scale will turn off automatically after approximately 5 seconds.

Setting of the weight unit

• At the back you will find the KG/LB button to convert the weight unit. You can select between "kg" for Kilogram, "lb" for British and American pound (1 pound = 453,59237 Gram).

Setting of the weighing reminder function

• At the back you will find the 24H/ALARM button to set the weighing reminder function.
• Press the button to activated the function
• On the display appears the alarm symbol, the backlight turns on shortly and a beep sounds.
• After 24 hours a beep (20 seconds) sounds.
• This ensures that for example during a diet, the weight is always checked at the same time and the result is not distorted by the normal weight fluctuations over the course of a day.
• Press the button again to deactivate the function.
• The alarm symbol will disappear.

Use of the scale

• If possible, always weigh yourself at the same time of day (ideally in the morning), after going to the toilet, on an empty stomach and without clothes to achieve comparable results.
• When you start using the device and after replacing the batteries, the device has to be adjusted.
• To end the adjustment, repeat the procedure three times.
• After the adjustment on the display of the balance will appear after each new use the correct weight.

Care and maintenance

• Clean your instrument with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
• Remove the batteries if you do not use it for a long period of time.
• Keep your scale in a dry place.

Troubleshooting

If your device fails to work despite these measures contact the supplier from whom you purchased it.

Waste disposal

This product has been manufactured using high-grade materials and components which can be recycled and reused.

Never dispose of empty and rechargeable batteries in household waste.

As a consumer, you are legally required to take them to your retail store or to an appropriate collection site depending on national or local regulations in order to protect the environment.

The symbols for the heavy metals contained are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead

This instrument is labelled in accordance with the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE).

Please do not dispose of this instrument in household waste. The user is obligated to take end-of-life devices to a designated collection point for the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment, in order to ensure environmentally-compatible disposal.
