OPERATING THE THERMOMETER 1. Press the POWER button to power on the thermometer. 2. Wait for thermometer to get ready. Fig. 1 – A beep will sound and the display will perform a self- test for about 2 seconds (Fig. 1). Fig. - Page 4 SELECTING A TEMPERATURE LOCATION Oral (recommended) 1. Cover the probe tip with a probe cover (not included) and place the probe tip of the thermometer well under the tongue. For an accurate measurement, it is important to keep your mouth closed and stay still. Be careful not to bite down on the thermometer.

3. Gently insert the probe tip of the thermometer NO MORE THAN 1/2 inch into the rectum. If you detect resistance, stop. Hold the thermometer in place during measurement. 4.
