it becomes diffi cult to breathe, or if respirator
becomes damaged, immediately go to a clean area and replace
the respirator. Leave the contaminated area immediately if
dizziness, irritation, or other distress occurs.
Biological Particles
This respirator:
• DOES help reduce inhalation exposures to certain airborne bio-
logical particles (e.g. Mycobacterium tuberculosis.)
• Does NOT eliminate the risk of contracting infections, illness or
disease.
For these contaminants, OSHA and other government agencies
have not stated safe exposure limits.
Use and Limitations
Respirators are intended to help protect the wearer by reducing
their exposure to airborne harmful contaminants from a level that
may be hazardous to one that is considered safe or acceptable
according to government established levels. Employers must
comply with regulations and procedures from federal, state and
government agencies, such as OSHA, for selecting, using, and
maintaining proper respiratory protection in the workplace.
WARNING! Follow all Use and Limitations instructions. Before
occupational use of this respirator, a written respiratory protection
program must be implemented meeting all the local government
requirements. In the United States, employers must comply with
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 which includes medical evaluation, train-
ing, and fi t testing. In Canada, CSA standard Z94.4 requirements
must be met and/or requirements of the applicable jurisdiction, as
appropriate.
This respirator:
• DOES fi lter particles such as those from grinding, sanding,

Hazardous particles can be too small to be seen by the naked
eye.
• DOES fi lter metal fumes created from welding, brazing, cutting
and other operations involving heating of metals.
• DOES protect from particles created from sprayed non-oil based

• Is NOT for use in areas where there is not enough oxygen to
support life or where a high concentration of a toxic substance
can occur.
• Is NOT for use where concentrations of contaminants are imme-
diately dangerous to life and health.
• Is NOT for use where concentrations of contaminants are un-
known.
• Is NOT for use where concentrations of contaminants exceed
10 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) or according to
specifi c OSHA standards or applicable government regulations,
whichever is lower.
• Is NOT for use when OSHA substance specifi c standards, such
as those for arsenic, cadmium, lead in construction industry, or
4,4'-methylene dianiline (MDA), specify other types of respiratory
protection.
• Does NOT prevent contaminants from entering your body
through other routes such as skin, which would require additional
personal protective equipment, such as gloves and other protec-
tive clothing.
• Is NOT for use with beards or other facial hair or other condi-
tions that prevent a good seal between the face and the sealing
