Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Das Elektret-Mikrofon ECM-285 ist für den Einsatz
auf der Bühne und im Studio konzipiert und eignet
sich optimal für die Schallabnahme von Instrumenten
(z. B. als Overhead-Mikrofon für Becken oder Hi-Hat)
und für Gesangs- und Sprachanwendungen. Das
Mikrofon kann wahlweise über eine 1,5-V-Batterie
gespeist werden oder extern über das angeschlos-
sene Audiogerät (Phantomspeisung 9 – 48 V ).
Zum Lieferumfang gehören ein Halter mit 16-mm-

winde ( / ") sowie ein 6 m langes Anschlußkabel.

Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Das Mikrofon entspricht der EMV-Richtlinie für elek-
tromagnetische Verträglichkeit 89/336/EWG.
Das Mikrofon ist nur zur Verwendung im Innen-
bereich geeignet. Schützen Sie es vor Feuchtig-
keit und Hitze (zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbe-
reich 0 – 40 °C).
Verwenden Sie für die Reinigung nur ein trocke-
nes, weiches Tuch, auf keinen Fall Chemikalien
oder Wasser.

Applications
The electret microphone ECM-285 is designed for
applications on stage and in the studio and is ideally
suited for the sound pick-up of instruments (e. g. as
overhead microphone for cymbals or hi-hat) and for
vocal sound and speech applications. The micro-
phone can alternatively be supplied via a 1.5 V bat-
tery or externally via the connected audio unit
(phantom power 9 – 48 V ).

A support with 16 mm ( / ") thread including

6 m connection cable are included in the delivery.
(Microphone set DRUM-2SET is supplied without
cable.)
Safety Notes
The microphone corresponds to the directive for
electromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
The microphone is only suitable for indoor use.
Protect it against humidity and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no
means chemicals or water.
If the microphone is used for purposes other than
originally intended, if it is not connected correctly

Wird das Mikrofon zweckentfremdet, falsch an-
geschlossen oder nicht fachgerecht repariert,
kann für eventuelle Schäden keine Haftung über-
nommen werden.
Werfen Sie verbrauchte Batterien nicht in den
Hausmüll, sondern geben Sie sie nur in den Son-
dermüll (z. B. Sammelbehälter bei Ihrem Einzel-
händler).
Soll das Mikrofon endgültig aus dem Betrieb
genommen werden, übergeben Sie es zur Ent-
sorgung einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.
Inbetriebnahme
1) Ist der Mikrofoneingang, an dem das Mikrofon
angeschlossen werden soll, nicht mit einer Phan-
tomspeisung von 9 – 48 V
1,5-V-Batterie vom Typ Mignon (AA) einsetzen:
Die Schraubkappe (unterer Gehäuseteil) durch
Drehen gegen den Uhrzeigersinn abschrauben,
und die Batterie in das Batteriefach legen. Dabei
auf die richtige Polarität achten (siehe Aufdruck
im Batteriefach). Die Schraubkappe des Gehäu-
ses wieder aufschrauben.
Wird das Mikrofon längere Zeit nicht benutzt
(z. B. länger als eine Woche), sollte die Batterie
herausgenommen werden, um Schäden durch
ein eventuelles Auslaufen der Batterie zu ver-
meiden.
2) Den beiliegenden Mikrofonhalter auf ein Mikro-
fonstativ schrauben: Besitzt das Stativ ein 16-mm-
or not repaired in a qualified way, no liability can
be assumed for possible damage.
Do not put exhausted batteries into the domestic
rubbish but take them to a special waste disposal
(e. g. collective container at your retailer).
If the microphone is to be put out of operation de-
finitively, it must be disposed of in a local recycling
plant.
Setting into Operation
1) If the microphone input to which the microphone
is to be connected is not provided with a phantom
power of 9 – 48 V , insert a 1.5 V battery of size
AA: screw off the screw cover (lower housing
part) by turning it counterclockwise, and put the
battery into the battery compartment. Observe
the correct polarity (see imprint in the battery
compartment). Screw on the screw cover of the
housing again.
If the microphone is not used for a longer
period of time (e. g. more than a week), the bat-
tery should be taken out to prevent damage in
case the battery should leak.
2) Screw the supplied microphone support on a
microphone stand: if the stand is equipped with a

16 mm ( / ") thread, remove the adapter screw of

the support and screw on the support directly. In

case of a 9 mm ( / ") thread fix the support via the

3) Das Mikrofon an einen XLR-Mikrofoneingang
des Audiogerätes (z. B. Mischpult, Verstärker)
anschließen.
4) Zum Einschalten des Mikrofons den Schiebe-
schalter von „OFF" (Mikrofon abgeschaltet) auf
„ON" stellen.

switch from "OFF" (microphone switched off) to
"ON".
