Some engine models have air intake heating device.
The compressed air system usually consists of the gear driven air compressor, pressure regulator, compressed air container and piping. The D series electronically controlled engine employs single-cylinder air compressor, and some engine models don’t use air compressor. Only a few engine models use double-cylinder air compressor. Controlled by the pressure regulator and unloaded valve, the air compressor can operate continuously with and without load.
Operation and maintenance manual D Series Electronically Controlled Diesel Engine 4 Use of Engine Before using the engine, choose lube oil, fuel and coolant with proper specifications according to specific environment and condition. The specifications of the lube oil, fuel and coolant to be used should comply with the stipulations in this chapter.
Operation and maintenance manual D Series Electronically Controlled Diesel Engine 4.2 Engine Operation ★ Do not operate the engine at full accelerator for more than 1 minute when its speed is lower than peak torque speed. ★ Monitor the oil pressure, coolant temperature frequently. If the oil pressure and coolant temperature are not in line with the ones stipulated in Chapter 2, shut down the engine, check and find the cause, and repair when necessary.
This chapter mainly gives the symptoms of typical engine malfunctions. For any of the following malfunction appearing, check and investigate timely, and take necessary steps to remove it, otherwise severe malfunction will occur to the engine. If necessary, contact your local SDEC offices, or service agencies authorized by SDEC for technical instruction or professional service.

The engine speed will return to its normal idle speed gradually when the coolant temperature reaches 60 .
