3.7. Low Input Pressure Shut O
The device will automatically shut o should oxygen input pressure
drop to 35 PSI. This indicates that the drive gas is now exhausted to
the point where the device will no longer function correctly.
When only oxygen is applied, the device will not shut o , and an
audible alarm will be activated with cycled N
O visual Indicator.

When only nitrous oxide is applied, the device will automatically shut
o with O
gas supply indicator showing black and no audible alarms

activated. However the Equinox® Advantage will continue to allow
the patient to breathe through the device on atmospheric room air.
4. Preventive Maintenance and Servicing
4.1. Routine Maintenance
To ensure proper operation of the O-Two Equinox® Advantage,
regular inspection and checking of the device and accessories for
correct function should be undertaken by a responsible member
of sta . It is recommended that a preventive maintenance record
be maintained for each unit.
It is recommended that the routine preventive maintenance be
carried out and the Equinox® Advantage mixer be returned to
O-Two Medical Technologies or its authorized service center for
maintenance and service every 2 years as follows:
Monthly checking
This check is to ensure that all of the accessories and device
components are present, the nitrous oxide and oxygen cylinders
are full and that the device is in working order.
The device should be checked for proper function and mixing
percentage (oxygen concentration) at least every six months, and
more frequently in high use applications. Units with test pressures
outside of the ranges listed in the product specifi cations should
not be used.
Any malfunction unit should be returned to the manufacturer or
an authorized service center since this product is not designed for
fi eld disassembly or service. Unauthorized repairs will nullify the
product warranty.
