    Reader Overview Reader Software 1.2. The 3M Compact RFID Reader 1000 is shipped with two software applications that you can use to configure and control the reader. Reader Startup Tool (RST) RST is a Microsoft Windows application you install on your computer. With RST, you can view all readers on your network.
