Firmware Updates

All Smart Safe models are designed to update their firmware automatically in real-time. This
ensures that your safe is kept up-to-date with the latest security and so ware enhancements. You
can find the current firmware version of your safe in the mobile app.
1. Open the Smart Safe mobile app
2. Select your safe by tapping the image
3. Tap the Settings button
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page to view your firmware version
Model: Motorola Bolt Smart Safe
When your Smart Safe is actively updating the firmware, the Wi-Fi LED will be solid blue, and the
status icon will be flashing yellow/green. Firmware updates generally take 2 minutes to download
and install. Do not open the door or perform any other activities with the Motorola Smart
Safe until the process is complete. Once the installation is complete, you will hear the lock
motor turn on.
If your safe disconnects during this process, it will automatically attempt to download the
firmware's remaining portion once online. You can manually trigger this by pressing any key on
the keypad while the door is closed. The Wi-Fi icon will change from yellow to blue.
Model: Motorola Flex Smart Safe
When your Smart Safe is actively updating the firmware, the Wi-Fi LED will be solid blue, and the
status icon will be flashing yellow/green. Firmware updates generally take 2 minutes to download
and install. Do not open the door or perform any other activities with the Motorola Smart
Safe until the process is complete. Once the installation is complete, you will hear the lock
motor turn on.
