    TMS ScanControl User guide Introduction Congratulations for the purchase of TMS ScanControl. TMS ScanControl is the system control software for Leica HDS, Z+F Imager and Amberg Profiler 5003 scanners. It is required for data acquisition in the field. 1. You may download the latest software release of TMS Office on our home page http://www.amberg.ch/at 3.2.2. Installation The installation of TMS ScanControl is included in the installation of TMS Office.

All important functions for the measurements can be executed by specific icons on the touch screen. Within TMS ScanControl the measuring pro- cedure follows the concept of the Amberg Positioning Method (APM).

Depending on the scanner you will have different options. Only calibrated configurations are shown. Note Recommended setting: Middle (50Hz and 5'000 pixels per rotation).

Note The scanner IP address and subnet mask are printed on a sticker on the scanner. The static IP address for the notebook must be in the same subnet as the scanner.
  • Page 19 3.2.2. Setting the scanner IP in TMS ScanControl To set the scanner IP address in TMS ScanControl, choose File » Options » Scanner... in TMS Office. The dialogue below will be opened. In TMS ScanControl you can only reach this dialogue, if the Scanner Measurement window is closed.

    Figure 3.4. Screenshot of View Profile screen Note The parameters above can not be changed while TMS ScanControl is connected to the scanner. To edit the parameters, you need to close TMS ScanControl first. After restart of the program, the edited parameters will be used for the next scan.

Note Recommended resolution settings: 1/8 will result in a resolution of approximately 10mm in a distance of 10m.

    TMS ScanControl User guide Chapter 4. Important hints 4.1. Notebook / data storage The notebook must have a separated partition where the scan data is stored. Do not run any other software from this partition. After copying the data to another notebook or network, delete the data on the measuring computer and defragment the partition where the scan data was stored.
