WHAT YOU’LL NEED Phillips head #2 screwdriver Flat head screwdriver Wall plate Pliers (optional) - Page 6 Config and Cat. - Page 7 TURN OFF YOUR BREAKERS Turn off the circuit breaker for the outlet you are replacing. If breakers aren’t labeled, turn off master breaker. Before proceeding - Check for power by plugging in a device to confirm breakers are off.
- Page 8 REMOVE OLD OUTLET Unscrew wall plate and outlet from wall. Carefully disconnect wires attached to outlet. Remove your existing outlet. Before removing - Be sure the device is not powered.
- Page 10 IDENTIFY & STRIP WIRES You should see 3 types of wires in your wall: Line (Black) Neutral (White) Ground (Green) Be sure your wires have a ½ inch stripped at the end of each wire. Use a proper* screwdriver to tighten the terminal screws.
