    This Instruction and Maintenance manual owns all the important information about the use of ® your TESSIER product. In order to use it the safe way and enjoy all of its performances, please read carefully this manual and pay attention to the security advises and maintenance advises.

     ® Anyone using TESSIER products must be correctly retained in the seat. Our 7 sizes (children and size 1 to 6) allow fitting most of morphologies. The minimal recommended age is 10 years old, at the condition to be comfortably installed in the seat while being well retained.

    2.2 Choice of skis Just as a standing skier, the choice of the skis will depend of the type of practice, the weight and the ski level of the skier.  With the Uniski all the weight is evenly distributed over one single board. For this reason, it is advisable to use either top quality or competition skis that are designed to support significant mechanical constraints.

    USE OF CHAIRLIFTS AND T-BAR LIFTS In France, the SCARVER™ has authorization - N° AVMH_779_08_B for the use of chairlifts and ski lifts. The attachment mechanism « TESSIER harness system » has received authorization N° AVMH_734_99_C. These authorizations are delivered by the « commission des matériels de ski assis »...
  • Page 9 Installation of the harness on the SCARVER™ 1. Fix the 2 snap hook (1) to the fixing points on the frame (2). It is necessary to remove a snap hook to take place in the seat. 2. Take care that the cord (3) of the harness must always pass between the seat and the strap of the backrest (4).

    3.1.2 How to use the skilifts?  General Case : - The skier must have in his possession the identification sheet of the harness system with specifications in order to be able to show that it is conform. - It is compulsory that a helper leaves first and is in a position of stopping the ski-lift, using the emergency button, in the event of a malfunction of the harness system.

  • Page 18 5.3.1 Explanation on the edging system On the Dualski, the inclination angle of the skis is different from the inclination angle of the seat, depending on the chosen configuration: P, P+, C or C+. These 4 configurations correspond to the 4 possible positions of the position indicator of the edge-adjustment plates (27).

    5.8 Frame kinematic and settings IMPORTANT For all the following adjustments, it is essential to tighten the screws and nuts correctly. Indeed the efforts are very important on the frame and a bad tightening could involve a deterioration of parts or the loss of screws. A good tightening is done smoothly up to the point of elasticity of the screw.
  • Page 27 Kinematics has to be adapted to your way of skiing to obtain this result. It can be necessary to vary the centre of gravity to obtain ideal balance. (See page 30) Adjustment The change of suspension movement is done by fixing the higher and lower arms on the desired points.

  • Page 30 Figure 7: Details of the Uniski base. 5.8.2 Hardness of the shock absorber The hardness of the shock absorber depends of the spring used for the Öhlins. The spring bought with your Scarver was defined according to your weight. However, without changing the spring it is possible to modify the hardness of the suspension by moving the lower point of fixing of the shock absorber.

    MAINTENANCE Ski lift harness system maintenance Regularly spray over the snap hook (1) with a silicone based lubricant. Maintenance program of the Scarver Our sitskis are known for their superior quality and reliability. It’s one of our priorities to keep this level high. However, as any mechanical equipment, it’s necessary to pay attention on it.

    In order to avoid any damage during transporting, each removable part has been packed separately. Unpacking after shipment by TESSIER : IMPORTANT Any reclamation concerning the damage if equipment during transport can be taken into account if it has not been mentioned and written to the delivery man.

    In the event of return of the material, the expenses of routing and return of the material to factory TESSIER or the approved distributor of the country are the responsibilities of the purchaser.     ® VERTICAL EVACUATION OF TESSIER SITSKIS Thanks to the different tests realized, a unique evacuation procedure for all sitski equipment homologated in France has been defined. It is approved by the French Approval commission presided by the STRMTG. Two anchor straps of 1m50 (example: anchor strap PETZL C40-150 or anchor strap BEAL BASIC 18mm length 150cm) are necessary.
