The NEU MASTER NTC0023-18 cordless tacker may fire one nail and then stop working due to several possible reasons:
1. Battery Issue: The battery may be low or not properly connected. Check the battery power display and ensure it is fully charged and securely attached.
2. Contact Safety Not Engaged: The contact safety must be pressed against the surface for the tacker to operate. If not properly engaged, it will not fire.
3. Jammed Nail or Staple: A jammed fastener in the magazine or nose area can cause it to stop. Check and clear any jams.
4. Magazine Issue: If the magazine is empty or not properly loaded, it may prevent further shots. Ensure it is correctly filled and latched.
5. Overheating or Safety Lock: The tool may have a safety mechanism that stops firing if overheated or misused. Allow it to cool and reset.
Check these points to identify the cause.

The NEU MASTER NTC0023-18 nail gun may not be feeding nails and only leaving dents in the wood due to the following possible reasons:
1. Empty or Improperly Loaded Magazine – Ensure that nails are properly loaded in the magazine and that it is not empty. 2. Incorrect Nail Size – The nail gun supports 18-gauge brad nails from 5/8" to 1 1/4". Using incorrect nail sizes may cause feeding issues. 3. Low Battery Power – If the battery is low, the tool may not have enough power to drive the nails properly. Check the battery indicator LEDs and recharge if necessary. 4. Impact Control Adjustment – The impact control adjustment knob may be set too low, preventing the nail from being fully driven into the wood. Increase the setting as needed. 5. Jammed Nails – A nail jam inside the magazine can prevent new nails from feeding. Open the magazine, check for obstructions, and clear any jams. 6. Rust or Dirt in the Nail Compartment – If nails have been left inside the tool for a long time, especially in cold weather, rust buildup may cause feeding problems. Clean the nail cartridge compartment if necessary.
Checking and addressing these issues should resolve the problem.
