To change the playback speed
The function of the following buttons (
are available. (Not available when playing copy
restricted contents.)
STOP, PAUSE,
/ , INSTANT SKIP, INSTANT
REPLAY, SLOW/REV, FWD/SLOW, SKIP REV, SKIP
FWD, ADJUST
To select the sound
During playback, press AUDIO under the lid
repeatedly.
To select the subtitles
1) During playback, press SUBTITLE under the lid.
2) Press
/
to select "Status", then press
SUBTITLE to select "On".
Skip this step if "Status" is set to "On".
3) Press SUBTITLE repeatedly to select subtitles.
Each of subtitles included in pictures and then text
style subtitle file are selected cyclically.
e.g. when a disc contains 3 languages of subtitle
and text style subtitle file:

To locate a file
1) Press SEARCH under the lid.
2) Input a file number by ADJUST (–/+).
The number buttons are also available.
3) Press ENTER.

• If you press the SEARCH button twice at step 1), the
display for "Time Search" function appears. For the

To play repeatedly
1) During stop, press QUICK MENU.
2) Press
/
to select "Repeat", then press
ENTER.

• During playback, "A-B Repeat" function is available. See
page 72.
• To cancel repeat play, stop the playback or select the
cancel command from Quick Menu.

DivX
VOD files are under DRM copy protection and can be
played only on registered device.
Some DivX

files may require the registration code of this
recorder when played. For the code, see

VOD files which this recorder is not registered for their
player cannot be played on this recorder (an error message
appears).
Some DivX
®
VOD files have limitation of playback times.
Each time such a file is played, the remaining playback time
appears. When it reaches 0, no more play of the file is
permitted.
This recorder requires discs/recordings to meet certain
technical standards in order to achieve optimal playback
quality. Pre-recorded DVDs are automatically set to
these standards. There are many different types of
recordable disc formats (including those containing DivX
files). Given the fact that technology in this area is still
maturing, Toshiba cannot guarantee that all genre of
recordable discs will produce optimal playback quality.
The technical criteria set out in this owner's manual are
meant as a guide onlly.
