INSTALLATION

Mounting the Control Panel

Mounting the Control Panel
1. Remove any float switch that is currently used or supplied with
the pump.
• If the float switch cannot be removed, secure it so it is always
on.
2. Attach the 2 mounting flanges to the control panel enclosure.
3. Mount the control panel within 6 feet of an electrical outlet and
near the pump to eliminate splicing of the sensor and pump
wires.
4. Separate the male power cord from the preset level sensor cord
by at least 2 inches, whether in the tank or above ground in sepa-
rate conduits.
5. For models with an overload relay, set the relay dial to the full
load amps of the pump using a Phillips head screwdriver on the
overload dial.
IMPORTANT: Do not plug the unit into power until
the rest of the system has been installed.
• Refer to the included electrical schematic to verify
wiring and function.
• The dial must be set on the overload correctly for
the pump to function.
• If the pump trips, push Reset (6).
• Other brands of overload relays operate in a simi-
lar manner.
NOTE: The pump motor may start immediately if the overload is reset.
Preset Level Sensor Holder Installation
NOTE: No adjustment of the preset level sensor holder is required.
1. Attach the sensor holder to a pipe mounted to the side wall using the stain-
less steel pipe clamp.
IMPORTANT: Failure to properly secure the sensor may cause the pump to
activate even when oil is present in the sump.
2. Make sure the sensor is clear of inlet water and at least 2 inches away from
any conductive material.
3. Make sure the off probe is at the same height as the top of the pump
or just slightly below to ensure that the pump remains submerged.
4. Route the 5-conductor cable to the control panel through the liquid-
tight cord connector and tighten the compression nut.
