    V1.0 1/4 in. Air Riveter 8843732 INTRODUCTION The 1/4 in. Air Riveter is ideal for installing 1/8 to 1/4 in. long blind rivets. The air riveter can use either steel or aluminum rivets. The air riveter holds the ejected pins into a clear safety cap for later disposal.

    8843732 1/4 in. Air Riveter V1.0 Wear steel toe footwear or steel toe caps to prevent a foot injury from falling objects. PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid personal injury or damage to tool.

Air Riveter V1.0 NOSEPIECES Remove the base cover (#34) from the air cylinder (Fig. 2) Select the appropriate sized nosepiece (A) for your task from the four nosepieces stored in the bottom (Fig. 3). Fit the wrench’s center hex (#C02) over the nosepiece and twist counterclockwise to free it (Fig.

    V1.0 1/4 in. Air Riveter 8843732 the mandrel at the rivet head and eject the scrap mandrel into the safety cap. Repeat Steps 3 to 5 until all rivets are installed. Shut the compressor down and discharge all air from the system before changing the nosepiece for a different diameter rivet.

The hydraulic oil level should barely cover the lock nut (#18) connecting the air cylinder to the handle (#11).
  • Page 11 V1.0 1/4 in. Air Riveter 8843732 CLEANING AND CHANGING THE JAWS Remove the outer sleeve with the small wrench’s (#C02) box end. Slide the small wrench’s (#C02) open end onto the flats of the socket (#7). Slide the large wrench’s (#C03) open end onto the jaw carrier’s (#3) flats.

    8843732 1/4 in. Air Riveter V1.0 NOTICE! Never use a penetrating oil to lubricate an air tool. Penetrating oil acts as a solvent that will dissolve the tool’s grease packing and may damage the o-rings, causing the tool to seize or malfunction.
