This manual will provide detailed information on programming, monitoring and maintenance, as well as setup and removal of the Horizon SQ2® Portable Traffic Signal System. Horizon Signal Technologies has a long history of providing high quality dependable portable traffic signal (PTS) systems. Our PTS systems are extremely versatile and are available with a wide variety of modular add-on options.

Horizon Signal SQ2 User Manual System Features The Horizon Signal SQ2 PTS system is capable of three communication types: Radio - Wireless communication between all controllers in the system. Cable - Wired communication between all controllers in the system. Quartz - Synchronized timing of all controllers in the system via quartz clocks. Controllers do not communicate in this mode.

Note: The PTS Programmer can read the configuration settings of a radio by following these same steps using the “Read” function. The radio settings will display at the top of the PTS Programmer beside “Read”. After reading radio settings unplug the PTS Pro- grammer and cycle controller’s power. For more advanced programming, or programs that do not fall into any of the templates, “SPECIAL” programming should be used. Select the appropriate programming type and press the “E” button. For SQ2 Programming systems, select “2-Phases 4 Controllers.” Meaning 2 phases of traffic with 2 SQ2s 2 Phases 2 Controllers per approach (4 controllers).

Password By setting a password, the user can lock the active program, allowing edits to be made only after the correct password has been entered. If the password is forgotten, please contact Horizon Signal at 800-852-8796. NOTE: If any of these settings are changed, they will not take effect until a new program is loaded.

It is important to note that in colder climates solar collection alone may not be sufficient to maintain optimum battery voltage. If battery voltage drops, the Horizon Signal PTS system can be charged using an external power source, such as a generator.
HST warrants SQ2 carts for a period of 2 years from date of manufacture against defects in workmanship arising from normal use. This 2-year warranty is exclusive to the cart and does not include any bolt-on or otherwise add- on components or paint.
