These instructions
describe
operation of
representative
EF lenses.
Detailed instructions for
your
lens can

Be sure the latest version firmware Is installed

the camera.

• Do not leave
a
lens
or a camera/camcorder with a lens
attached,
under
the sun without
the lens
cap
attached.
Sunlight
may be
concentrated and
may
cause
fire.
•
Do
not
shoot the sun
directly or point
a lens or a camera/
camcorder with a
lens
attached at
the
sun.
Even
when
the sun does not appear on the screen or is behind tho-
subject,
the
lens
may
concentrate
the
sunlight and cause a
malfunction or
lire.
• Do
not
look
directly at the sun or other strong
light
sources
through
a
lens
or a single-lens
reflex
camera
with
a
lens
attached.
This
may harm your vision
.
In
particular,
do not
look
directly at the sun
through
a
lens.
This may result in
vision
loss.
• When
carrying or
handling
a camera/camcorder with a
lens
mounted, and a tripod
mount
attached to
the
lens, make sure
to properly support the
lens.
If
you
hold
only the cameral
camcorder,
the
lens
or
the
camera/camcorder may
be
damaged,
or
the lens
may
fall
off
the
mount and cause
injury.
• When
attaching a tripod
mount
to the
tens,
tighten the
tripod
mount
ring firmly so
the
tripod mount is securely
locked.
If
the tripod
mount
is
not secured
properly,
the lens
may
fall
off.

• Do
not leave
the
product
in places
exposed
to
extremely
high
or low
temperatures.
The product may
become extremely
hot/cold
and cause burns or
injury
when
touched
.
•
Only
mount
the
product
on a
tripod that
is sufficiently sturdy.
• Do not touch
any parts inside the product.

Do
not
hold the Macro Utes located on
the
front of
the lens
close to the eyes or stare at
them
when
they
are
illuminated.
Doing
so may
result
in eye damage.
Attaching and Detaching a Lens

Remove the caps

• Remove the dust
cap and
the body cap by turning them
as shown
by the
arrows.

Attach the lens

• Align the lens's mount index
(A:
white
index,
6:
red
index)
with
the
camera's index
matching the
same color.
Turn
the lens
as shown
by the
arrow
until it
clicks
in place.

Set the lens's focus mode switch to AF
0
.
•
AF stands
for
autofocus.
• MF
stands
for manual focus.

Remove the front lens
cap.
•
Turn the
zoom
ring
on
the lens
with your
fingers

•
If
you want to zoom
,
do
it
before
focusing.
Turning the
zoom
ring
after achieving
focus may throw off the focus.

• Turn the lens until it
stops,
then
detach
it.

Attach
the
dust cap
to the detached lens.
Lens Image Stabilizer
When you use the
IS
lens's built-in
Image
Stabilizer,
camera shake
is corrected
to
obtain a sharper shot.
•
IS
stands
for Image
Stabilizer.

Set the image stabilizer switch to ON
0.
•
Also set
the
camera's
power
switch
to
ON.

Press the shutter button
halfway.

The Image Stabilizer
will
operate.

Take the picture.
• When the picture looks
steady
in
the
viewfinder,
press the
shutter
button
completely
to take the
picture.
Attaching a Lens Hood
A lens hood can
block unwanted light
and
prevent
rain,
snow,
dust,
etc.
from
getting on
the front
of the
lens.
When storing
the lens
in a
bag, etc., you can also attach
the
hood in
reverse.

Align the red dots on the hood and lens edges,
then turn the hood as shown by the arrow

Montage et retrait de l'objectif

Retirez les bouchons

cache-poussiere et
le
bouchon
du boitier
en
les
tournant comme
indique
par
les
fleches.

meme
couleur de
l'appareil
photo.
Tournez
l'objectif dans le
sens
de Ia Heche jusqu'au
d9clic.

Positionnez le selecteur de mode de mise au point
de l'objectif sur AF

AF

autofocus.
•
MF
signifie
mise au point
manuelle.

Enlevez le bouchon avant de
l'objectif.
• Tournez manuellement Ia bague de zoom
sur
l'objectif

• Si
vous souhaitez effectuer
un
zoom,
faites-le avant Ia
mise au point. Vous
risquez de modifier Ia mise
au point
en tournant Ia bague de
zoom
apres
avoir effectue
Ia mise
au
point.
Tout en appuyant sur le bouton de deverroulllage
de
l'objectif,
tournez l'objectif
comme
indique par Ia
flitcheO
.
• Tournez l'objectif jusqu'a
ce qu'il se
bloque,
puis retirez-le.
•
Une lois
l'objectif
retire,
fixez-y le
cache-poussiere.
Stabilisateur d'image de l'objectif
L'utilisation
du stabilisateur d'image integre
a
un objectif
IS
permet
de corriger le
flou
de
bouge
afin
d'obtenir
une photo plus
nette.
• IS
signifie
"
Image
Stabilizer" (stabilisateur
d'image).

Placez le commutateur du stabilisateur d'image

.
• Positionnez
egatement
le
commutateur
d'alimentation
de
t'appareil photo
sur ON.

• No deje

sol ning(Jn objetivo ni ninguna
camara o
videocamara
que tenga montado un objetivo
sin
Ia
tapa
del
objetivo
puesta. La luz del
sol
puede concentrarse
y
provocar
un incendfo.
• No
fotografie el sol
directamente
ni apunte hacia et sol con
un
objetivo
o una
camara o videocilmara
que tenga montado

objetivo.
Aunque
el sol
no
aparezca
en Ia pantalta

el anillo de

Estabillzador de imagen del objetivo
Cuando utilice el estabilizador de imagen
integrado
en un objetivo IS,
Ia
sacudida
de
Ia camara se corregira
para
obtener imilgenes
mas
nitidas.
• IS
significa "Image Stabilizer" (estabilizador
de
imagen).
