Installation of the motor onto your kayak’s rudder should take less than 20 minutes. The motor mount adapter attaches to most rudders using three fasteners at the rear edge of the rudder.

FOR ASSISTANCE EMAIL INFO@TEXASPOWERPADDLE.COM • Using a 1/16 inch drill bit inserted into the pre-drilled jig holes, create three pilot holes in the rudder making sure to not move the mount while drilling. • Remove the jig and drill the pilot holes again with a 1/8 inch drill bit.

FOR ASSISTANCE EMAIL INFO@TEXASPOWERPADDLE.COM • Remove the three pre-installed Phillips screws on the motor mount and align the motor mount over the drilled holes in the rudder. Insert and tighten the supplied screws to secure the motor in place. • When complete your rudder with the attached motor should appear as below.

FOR ASSISTANCE EMAIL INFO@TEXASPOWERPADDLE.COM Connecting Throttle and Motor to Waterproof Control Case: The motor and the throttle cables need to be connected to the main control case. The throttle connector (three pin) attaches to the top receptacle and the motor connector (four pin) attaches to the bottom receptacle.

FOR ASSISTANCE EMAIL INFO@TEXASPOWERPADDLE.COM Location of Waterproof Control Case and Throttle Control on Kayak: The waterproof control case should be placed just behind the seat in the cargo section of the kayak. The motor cable should be routed over the rudder to ensure that it does not inhibit rotation of the rudder.

When this occurs, the user should remove the safety tether clip from the control case and manually remove the debris from the motor.
