Section2 Installation and wiring Please read the warnings carefully before installing, to avoid faulty installation which may cause personal injury. 2.1 Installation requirements WARNING Make sure that the machine is OFF while installing, failure to do so may resulting in serious injury. Do not use this sensor for machines that cannot be stopped by electrical control.
2.1.2 Safety distance WARNING Make sure to secure the safety distance (S) between the KS06 and the hazardous part. Otherwise, the machine may not stop before a person reaches the hazardous part, resulting in serious injury. CAUTION The response time of a machine is the time period from when the machine receives a stop signal to when the machine's hazardous part stops.

[Calculation example] Tm = 0.29s, Ts = 0.02s, d= 14mm: S= 2,000mm/s×(0.29s+0.02s) +8 × (14mm -14mm) = 620mm . . . Formula (2) If the result < 100mm, use S = 100mm. If the result exceeds 500mm, use the following expression where K = 1,600mm/s. S= 1,600mm/s ×...
2.1.3 Distance from reflective surfaces WARNING Install the sensor system so that it is not affected by reflective surfaces. Failure to do so may hinder the normal detection, resulting in serious injury. Install the sensor system at distance D or further from highly reflective surfaces such as metallic walls, floors, ceilings, or workpieces, as shown in Fig 2.4.
Fig 2.5.C Set up isolation devices between systems to eliminate interference 2.2 Installation 2.2.1 Mutual interference prevention Installation of CPS Ⅱ controller: CPSII is installed on the bed support of machine through controller support, the procedures are as follows: A. Select proper position according to the external dimensions of the controller.
2.2.2 Mutual interference prevention WARNING Install the emitter and receiver in parallel,so that their vertical direction should match. If the vibration of the work environment exceeds the specified value, other measures should be taken to reduce the vibration. Installation should strictly abide by the provisions of the safe distance. Refer to 3.1.2 about calculation of actual safety distance.
Page 40
1. In the premise of ensuring the safety distance, select proper installation position on the machine bed piece, drill and tap according to dimensions shown in Fig2.8.C. Attention must be given in locating the drilling hole to ensure that the emitter and receiver are parallel and aligned after being installed. 2.

2.3 Wiring 2.3.1 Matters needing attention WARNING Wiring when the power of KS06 is turned OFF Double or reinforced insulation must be applied between the input/output interface and dangerous voltage, otherwise may lead to electric shock. The two OSSDs must be used together; otherwise it may reduce the safety of the system. Properly perform the wiring after confirming the signal names of all the terminals.
2.3.2 Wiring about CPSII controller Power cable between controller and the electric equipment of machine is 7-core cable, in which the terminal of controller is connected by 7-core socket connector. At the time of wiring, connect to AC100 to 230V power supply according to the numerical values marked on the nameplate, or connect to DC24V power supply.
Page 52
WARNING In general, NC contacts should not be used as the control contact for safe purpose! Our company will not be responsible for control failure resulted by poor contact or disconnection of the circuit. Other safety measurements must be adopted when NC contacts have to be connected into the circuit.
2.3.3 Wiring about CQ2 controller The power cable between controller and the electric equipment of machine is 7 -core cable, in which the terminal of controller is connected by 12-core connection terminals. At the time of wiring, connect to AC100 to 230V or DC24V power supply according to the numerical values marked on the nameplate.
