1 Basic Product Information
1.1 HD29 Heat Detector (hereinafter – the detector) is designed to detect fires indoors by the critical temperature
and by the rate of change of an ambient temperature. Upon reaching the limit values for one of the measured
parameters or the combination thereof, the detector generates an «Actuation» signal. The signal may be reset from the
fire alarm control panel.
1.2 The detector is designed for the operation with R3500 series device (hereinafter – the Device).
1.3 The detector complies with EN 54-5, the class is pointed at the marking.
1.4 The power supply of the detector and communication are carried out via the addressable communication line
(hereinafter – the ACL). The detector allows connection to the ACL regardless of polarity.
1.5 The detector performs the following functions:
– measurement of the current ambient temperature;
– interference protection – cutting off the accidental short-term responses of the thermistor to waves of warm air;
– making a decision on the generation and transmission of the «Actuation» signal to the Device;
– making a decision on the generation and transmission of the «Fault» signal to the Device in case of a
malfunction of the temperature-sensitive element;
– indication of the detector status (see Table 1);
– testing using the test button or OT-1 optical tester.

1.6 The detector does not respond to changes in the direction and rate of air flow, changes in humidity, the
presence of flame, natural or artificial light.
1.7 The detector occupies 1 address in the system.
1.8 The detectors (Figure 1) are installed in the base type:
W1.02 – with screw-type contacts;
W1.03 – with screw-type contacts and with a pad for securing the cable screen (Figure 2);
W2.02 – with screw-type contacts for the installation on a suspended ceiling;
W2.03 – with screw-type contacts for the installation on a suspended ceiling, and with a pad for securing the
cable screen (Figure 3).
1.9 The detector is designed for continuous operation at an ambient temperature of minus 10 °C to plus 55 °C and
a relative humidity of (93 ± 2) %, without condensation.
