1 Basic Product Information
1.1 OHD64 Optical/heat detector (hereinafter – the detector) is designed to detect fires indoors.
1.2 The detector detects a fire:
– upon exceeding the preset value of an ambient temperature;
– by the rate of change of an ambient temperature;
– upon exceeding the preset value of smoke concentration in the room.
Upon reaching the limit values for one of the measured parameters or the combination thereof, the detector
generates an «Actuation» signal. The signal may be reset from the fire alarm control panel.
1.3 The detector is designed for the operation with R3500 series device (hereinafter − the Device).
1.4 The detector complies with EN 54-5 (the class is pointed at the marking) and EN 54-7.
1.5 The power supply of the detector and communication are carried out via the addressable
communication line (hereinafter − the ACL). The detector allows connection to the ACL regardless of polarity.
1.6 The detector performs the following functions:
– measurement of the current smoke concentration;
– measurement of the current ambient temperature;
– interference protection – cutting off the accidental short-term responses of the optical system to particles
of dust, vapour, rime, and of the temperature-sensitive element to waves of warm air;
– calculation of the rate of change of an ambient temperature;
– making a decision on the generation and transmission of the «Actuation» signal to the Device;
– making a decision on the generation and transmission of the «Fault» signal to the Device in case of a
malfunction of the optical system or the temperature-sensitive element;
– measurement of the dust content in the smoke chamber and data generation for transmission to the
Device upon request;
– automatic compensation of the dust content of the smoke chamber;
– making a decision on the generation and transmission of the signal of the dust content limit to the Device;
– indication of the detector statuses (see Table 1);
– testing using the test button or OT-1 optical tester.
