When to use the PneuWalker™ The PneuWalker™ is a pneumatic unweighting system. It has a self contained airbox that is plugged in overnight to provide lifting power all day. It is used in conjunction with the included Pneu-Vest™ to perform low-impact kinetic exercises in an upright, functional position. Activities that require assistance with balance and mobility may all be performed safely while unweighted.

Unpacking Your PneuWalker™ comes assembled, bubble wrapped and on a pallet. To begin: Carefully cut the wrapping down the front of the PneuWalker™ (you should see a box packed on the pallet in the front). Do not cut down the back to avoid danger of cutting hoses and handlebars. Next cut down the side to further loosen the wrapping.

Remove the straps holding the PneuWalker™ to the pallet. Put the handlebars in the forward position to assist moving the PneuWalker™ off the pallet. Locate the pin on the top of the handlebar where it connects to the frame upright, pull out the pin and rotate the handle- Pull out pin.

Contained Air System Before first Use Before you use the PneuWalker™ for the first time you must charge the Airbox. Screw the charger plug into the Airbox and the cord into a 110 outlet. Operating the PneuWalker™ Handlebars The handlebars are height adjustable and can swing outward to accommodate a person getting in and out of a wheelchair, bed , or for Physical Therapy access. To adjust the handlebar, pull out the pin, swing the handlebar to the desired position.
Adjust Width The width of the PneuWalker™ can be easily adjusted . Wider dimensions allow for use over treadmills and narrower for easy passage through interior doorways. On the front of the PneuWalker™ towards the bottom are two gold pin knobs. These knobs pull out to adjust the width.
Adjust the Height New developments in the construction of our PneuWalker™ allow for a greater range of heights to be accommodated. Continue by buckling both red Abdominal Tensioning Straps across the front to the oppo- site side buckle. Pull the loops to snug up under rib cage. Connect the red crossover straps to the opposite side buckles. Before adjusting the Anterior Tensioning Strap have the patient adjust the bra front to center the vest to a comfortable position.
Wrap the Leg Cuffs around the thigh . Velcro strap around d the thigh and secure in the front . Tighten the Grey straps to adjust tension. The Leg Cuffs are designed with a sliding motion to allow easy of movement while holding the Ultima vest down.

Bring vest around patient positioning the elastic Thoracic belt with it’s center equal to T12. secure the Velcro front and buckle both blue and red straps across the waist pulling on loops to tighten. Adjust Anterior Tension Straps equally and as close to the shoulders as is allowed.

Using PneuGait™ Assist Bands with the PneuWalker™ The PneuGait Assist Bands are designed to make life easier for the clinician and to provide a consistent, repeatable, neuromuscular assist to the patient. This assist is documentable and can be adjusted as the patient progresses. 1.
Transition to PneuWeight The PneuWalker™ is excellent for early Rehab. Patients who haven’t walked for years have been able to get up out of bed and start to take steps. With the PneuWalker™ over a tread- mill, patients can start at very low speeds and progress as they are able.
