The following explains 'o' 'x' and '?' shown at the RAID BIOS identifying IDE drive.

When this message appears, the existing RAID 1 or RAID 0+1 is broken. It may due to drive failure at RAID or one drive
is replaced/changed. User should enter setup to rebuild RAID or delete RAID relation.
