We recommend that you adjust the volume of your source unit (radio/cassette, radio/CD player, etc.) at one half to three quarters up and leave it. We further recommend that you use the VBE420P volume control as the master (main) volume control because its performance is more linear than that of source units. - Page 3 Turn the knob clockwise to increase the input level or turn counterclockwise to reduce the input level.
