A Word of Caution... Keep in mind that your Com puter Interface will always turn lamps a nd appliances on or off the instant you press the rocker keys or a t the times you have previously pro gram m ed it to d o so. That's obvious—but there ca n b e some unexpected consequences.

HOW IT WORKS The C om puter Interface tells the modules w hat to do, C om m and signals are sent over your existing house wiring to the m odule or m odules you select. The m od ules respond to the co m m a n d signals.

The’ C om puter Interface allows m anual control of up to 8 m odules from its rocker switches whether or not it is connected to the computer. APPENDIX D—TROUBLESHOOTING i 1 _ ____________ 1. If a module won’t go on or off manually from the rocker keys: C heck th a t you have power to the outlet controlling the m odule a nd the switch on the light or a p p lia n c e is ON. C heck th a t the red light on the Interface goes on when you press a rocker key.

2. If the Interface appears to be “com pletely d ea d .” Before returning it, unplug it from the 120 V outlet, remove the battery a n d wait 10 seconds. Then reconnect it to the outlet, re-install the battery and see if it works. Note, you will have lost all of,your p ro gram m ed information by d o in g this but if the Interface now works this indicates th a t the m icroprocessor was "la tche d up,"...
