Intended Use
Your D21441 rotary drill has been designed for
professional drilling and screwdriving
applications.
Do not use this tool under wet conditions or in
presence of fl ammable liquids or gases.
This rotary drill is a professional power tool. Do
not let children come into contact with the tool.
Supervision is required when inexperienced
operators use this tool.
Auto-spindle Lock
The auto-spindle lock is engaged when the
transmission is stationary. The chuck sleeve can
easily be turned with one hand while the other
supports the unit.

Electrical Safety

The electric motor has been designed for one
voltage only. Always check that the power supply
corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

accordance with EN 60745; therefore no
earth wire is required.
WARNING: 115 V units have to
be operated via a fail-safe isolating
transformer with an earth screen
between the primary and secondary
winding.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by a specially prepared cord available through the

WALT service organisation.

Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland Only)
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
• Safely dispose of the old plug.
• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in
the plug.
• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
WARNING: No connection is to be
made to the earth terminal.

Follow the fitting instructions supplied with good
quality plugs. Recommended fuse: 13 A.

Using an Extension Cable

If an extension cable is required, use an approved
extension cable suitable for the power input of this
tool (see technical data). The minimum conductor
size is 1 mm
; the maximum length is 30 m.

When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENT
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
injury, turn unit off and disconnect
machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories,
before adjusting or changing set-
ups or when making repairs. Be sure
the trigger switch is in the OFF position.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.
Inserting and Removing a Bit (fi g. A)
● Open the chuck by turning the sleeve (8)
counterclockwise and insert the bit shank.
● Place the bit in the chuck as far as it will go
and lift slightly before tightening.
● Tighten fi rmly by turning the sleeve clockwise.
● To remove the bit, proceed in reverse order.
Fitting the Side Handle (fi g. A)
The side handle (5) can be fi tted to suit both RH-
and LH-users.
WARNING: Always use the drill with
the side handle properly assembled.
● Loosen the side handle.
● For RH-users, slide the side handle clamp
over the collar behind the chuck, handle at the
left.
● For LH-users, slide the side handle clamp over
the colar behind the chuck, handle at the right.
● Rotate the side handle to the desired position
and tighten the handle.
Setting the Drilling Depth (fi g. B)
● Insert the required drill bit into the chuck.
● Slacken the side handle (5).
