This document contains instructions for replacing the top and bottom front chassis
panels and the LED board in the Cisco 7000. The top and bottom front chassis panels
comprise plastic bezels on a metal frame and should be replaced if they become warped
or broken. The LED board, which contains the light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for the
three front-panel system status indicators (Normal, Upper Power, and Lower Power), is
mounted inside the front of the chassis.
The sections in this document include the following:
"Obtaining Technical Assistance," page 2
For installation problems that you cannot resolve, this section provides instructions
for obtaining technical assistance and lists the information you need before you call
"Product Overview," page 2
Brief physical and functional descriptions of the front chassis panels and the LED
board
"Prerequisites," page 5
Safety guidelines to prevent injury to yourself or damage to the equipment, and the
tools and parts you will need for these installations
"Removing and Replacing the Front Chassis Panels," page 7
Procedures for removing and replacing the front chassis panels to replace damaged
panels or to access the front interior of the chassis to replace internal components
"Removing and Replacing the LED Board," page 10
Procedures for removing and replacing a failed LED board, and for restarting the
system and verifying that the new LED board is installed correctly and functioning
properly
Warning:
You must turn OFF all system power and remove the front chassis panels
to access the LED board. The system backplane, which is exposed when the front panels
are removed, carries dangerous current levels. Before opening the chassis, read "Safety
