  • Page 4 KBox A-150-SKL - User Guide Rev. 1.1 Intended Use This DIN rail industrial embedded computer platform, sold by Kontron, is part of Kontron’s A-Series intended for control cabinet applications, offering high performance at low power dissipation. The KBox A-150 product family can operate in a temperature range from 0°C to plus 40°C, and a humidity of 10 to 90 percent does not affect the function of the product.

Alternatively, attach an extension frame to a 7 mm high drive and insert the drive with extension frame into the drive bay with the drive’s contacts facing inward, until the connectors attach.

    KBox A-150-SKL - User Guide Rev. 1.1 7/ Thermal Considerations The KBox A-150-SKL is fanless and passively cooled using a heatsink plate or optional heatsink. The heatsink plate and optional heatsink absorb the heat produced by the internal components and transfers the heat away from the internal components by dissipating the heat into the ambient environment.

Users must observe the marked keep out areas shown in Figure 20, Figure 21, Figure 22, Figure 23 and Figure 24.

    KBox A-150-SKL - User Guide Rev. 1.1 BIOS The KBox-A-150-SKL uses the AMI uEFI BIOS supported by the mainboard and based on the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (uEFI) specification and the Intel® Platform Innovation Framework for EFI. The AMI uEFI BIOS preferences are preset and do not require further adjustment for operation.
