Display flickers.
Display flickers when shot
under fluorescent lighting.
A bar of light (purplish red) appears on the LCD
monitor.
Sometimes appears when
shooting a bright subject,
such as the sun or other
light source.

because of insufficient

This displays when using a
memory card that has print
settings, transfer settings or
slide show image selections
set by other DPOF-
compliant cameras.
This is not a camera malfunction
(flickering recorded in movies, but not
in still images).
This is a normal occurrence in
devices containing CCDs and does
not constitute a malfunction. This bar
of light will not be recorded when
shooting still photos, but it will be
recorded when shooting movies.
Set the IS Mode to any setting other
than [Off] (p. 79).
Raise the ISO speed (p. 104).
Set the Auto ISO Shift to any setting
other than [Off] (p. 105).
Select a setting other than
off) (p. 71).
Set the self-timer and attach the
camera to a tripod or other device
(p. 73).
These settings will be overwritten by
those set by your camera (pp. 146,
174).
