    Series 1700 Bedding Dispensers Safety Features WARNINGS SUMMARY The following warnings apply to general operation of the bedding dispenser. Keep them in mind as you operate the WARNINGS unit: • Areas located immediately around the bedding FALL HAZARD: dispenser may become a fall hazard due to water drippage. For a safe environment, ensure the floor is kept clean and dry.

SERIES 1700 BEDDING DISPENSERS A04169-A Model 1710 bedding dispensers automatically dispense bedding into two cages at once when the operator sets the cages into the filling chamber. Dispensed bedding volume is adjustable to accommodate various depths and sizes of cages.

    General Description Conveyor Drive Propels the conveyor (see Figure 1–3 on page 1–5). Dispenser When the dispenser opens, bedding falls from the hopper into the cages below. The dispenser is opened either by the timer, or by the MANUAL DISPENSING switch. To adjust the level of fill, the operator adjusts the timer to keep the dispenser open for more or less time.

    Series 1700 Bedding Dispensers PROCESSING DESCRIPTION Before starting daily operation, the operator fills the storage bin with bedding. At the start of the processing period, the operator activates the unit. The conveyor transports bedding from the storage bin into the hopper. The level control (internal) stops the conveyor automatically when the hopper is full.

(controls only— does not disconnect equipment from AC voltage) POWER Indicator Lights when power to the unit is ON. FILL TIME Controls the amount of bedding dispensed by controlling how long the dispenser is held open.

  • Page 21 Section 3 Operating Instructions To fill cages, the operator sets two cages at a time against the push bar in the filling chamber (see Figure 1–2 on page 1–3). Bedding is dispensed into the cages. The operator then removes the cages from the filling chamber. Levels are adjusted by setting the fill timer.

    Operating Instructions PREPARING Daily Checklist Before operating the bedding dispenser each day: Danger of falling. The surrounding floor may be slippery with WARNING spilled bedding.     Series 1700 Bedding Dispensers MACHINE INSTALLATION Installation of equipment should only be done by factory authorized repre- sentatives. CAUTION Once your machine has been inspected for damage and properly uncrated it is ready to be installed. Installation should only be performed by authorized service technicians.
