QUICK-START SPEAKER SETUP
INSTALLATION RAPIDE DES ENCEINTES
Placement
The location of your new speakers will significantly affect the
sound quality you experience in your particular room so take care
to position them correctly. Avoid trying to "hide" them inside an
entertainment center or other enclosed cabinets. Speakers sound
their best in free space, unencumbered by surrounding cabinetry,
with a clear line towards your seating area. Center channels in
particular lend themselves to being placed in your entertainment
center and Bryston Center Channels have been designed to allow
for that location, we would highly recommend however that if you
always try to have the front baffle plane of your center channel
slightly proud of the front plane of your entertainment center; even
fractions of an inch will matter. Large upholstered chairs blocking
the tweeters may result in reduced treble detail and clarity.
For a wide and spacious stereo or home theater soundstage,
separate the front left and right speakers by 6 feet or more, up to 12
feet apart, or by at least half the distance you sit from the speakers,
e.g. if you sit 15 feet away from the speakers, separate them by at
least 8 feet. You can experiment with slightly angling the speakers
in toward the listening area or having them face straight out into
the room. Each room is different, and toeing in the speakers toward
your seating may improve the stereo soundstage.

If you are using your tower speakers as your main speakers in
a home theater, place them to each side of the video display or
screen equidistant from the screen so the stereo sound will be
integrated with the TV image. Keep your tower speakers out of
corner locations by 1 foot or more, as corners may result in
exaggerated "boomy" bass and colored sound. Leave at least 2
or 3 inches between the rear of the speakers and the wall behind
for "breathing" room for the bass ports. Note, too, that the closer
you place tower speakers to any adjacent walls, including the wall
behind the speakers, the greater the deep bass output will be. The
farther out you move them from nearby wall surfaces, the less bass
you'll hear. Experiment with the placement so bass is smooth and
deep, free from "boomy" bass effects (unless that's an effect you
like).
Foot Installation
The TCI Mini comes with large non-marring feet and spike feet
included. Install your feet of choice and tighten securely in the
inserts provided at the bottom of the speaker. Your choice of feet
does not affect sound quality. For speaker leveling, the height of
both types of feet can be adjusted by turning the top portion of
the foot up or down the thread. To adjust the height, loosen the
foot from the bottom of the speaker and turn the top portion to the
desired height. Retighten the foot securely. An allen wrench may
be needed to secure the bottom of the round foot while adjusting
the height.

Positionnement
Le positionnement de vos enceintes de type colonne va
grandement influencer la qualité sonore que vous en obtiendrez
dans votre propre environnement. Donc, prenez soin de bien les
positionner. Surtout évitez de les « camoufler » à l'intérieur d'un
meuble ou d'une armoire fermée. Les enceintes acoustiques sont
à leur meilleur quand elles sont complètement dégagées, sans
être encombrées par la proximité de pièces d'ameublement ou
de décoration et avec un champ de vision sans obstruction vers
l'auditeur. Les enceintes centrales, en particulier, s'installent bien
dans une unité centrale et les enceintes Bryston ont été conçues
pour permettre cet emplacement. Nous recommandons fortement
de déposer l'enceinte pour que sa façade dépasse légèrement le
devant de l'unité centrale, quelques millimètres peuvent faire une
différence sonore appréciable. Des fauteuils lourds bloquant les
transducteurs de hautes fréquences (tweeter) peuvent réduire la
clarté et le détail de ce dernier.
Pour la restitution d'un champ sonore stéréophonique ou de
cinéma-maison qui soit large et spacieux, éloignez les enceintes
gauche et droite d'une distance de 2 à 4 mètres ou, à tout le
moins, de la moitié de la distance qui vous sépare d'elles i.e. si
vous êtes à 5 mètres distancez-les de 2,5 mètres. Vous pouvez
également expérimentez différents angles de projection de leur
son, soit tournées vers l'auditeur ou droit devant. Chaque pièce
diffère et la variation de l'angle de projection peut améliorer l'image
stéréophonique.
Si vous utilisez vos enceintes comme enceintes principales pour
votre cinéma-maison, installez-les symétriquement de chaque
côté de votre écran vidéo. Vous obtiendrez ainsi une image
stéréophonique qui s'intègrera à l'image vidéo. Éloignez d'une
distance de 30 cm vos enceintes des coins car les coins peuvent
colorer le son et exagérer les basses fréquences (dominantes).
Éloignez-les également du mur derrière elles d'une distance
d'environ 5 à 8 cm. Ceci procurera à l'évent arrière tout l'espace
nécessaire pour l'écoulement de son flot d'air. Prenez note, que
la proximité de tous les murs adjacents, incluant le mur derrière
les enceintes, influence la reproduction des basses fréquences.
L'éloignement de toutes les surfaces adjacentes diminuera l'impact
des basses fréquences. Expérimentez divers positionnements
pour obtenir des bases équilibrées, profondes sans artifice ou
exagération (à moins que cela ne vous plaise).
Installation Des Pieds
Le TCI Mini est fourni avec un ensemble de pieds qui ne marquent
pas le parquet et un ensemble de pointes. Installez l'ensemble
de votre choix en vissant les pièces de façon sécuritaire dans
les cavités prévues à cet effet sous l'enceinte. Peu importe votre
choix la qualité sonore demeure la même. Pour mettre l'enceinte
de niveau, la hauteur des deux types de pieds peut être réglée en
tournant la partie supérieure du pied vers le haut ou vers le bas.
Desserrez le pied de l'enceinte et tournez la partie supérieure à

la hauteur désirée. Resserrez le pied fermement. Une clé Allen
Réglage de la hauteur
peut être nécessaire pour tenir fixe le bas du pied rond tout en
ajustant la hauteur.
