Troubleshooting

PROBLEM
Heater does not heat up.
Pilot light does not light up.
Motor does not operate.
Rollers do not operate.

PVC Heaters for PVC Conduit
PROBABLE CAUSE
No power at supply circuit.
Switch is faulty.
Heating element is faulty.
Pilot light is faulty.
Motor is faulty.
Drive chain binding or broken.
Drive sprocket is loose.
Check power supply with a voltmeter.
Verify that the circuit has the
appropriate voltage and current
rating. See the Specifications section
of this manual.
Disconnect power. Turn the power
switch to the ON position. Check
continuity between:
• terminals 1 and 2
• terminals 3 and 4
Replace the switch if either terminal
pair does not have continuity.
Disconnect power. Disconnect
terminals A and B. Check continuity
between terminals A and B. Replace
the heating element if this terminal
pair does not have continuity.
Disconnect power. Check continuity
between terminals 5 and 6. Replace
pilot light if this terminal pair does not
have continuity.
Disconnect power. Check continuity
between terminals 7 and 8. Replace
motor if this terminal pair does not
have continuity.
Replace drive chain.
Tighten or replace drive sprocket set
screws.
