  • Page 4 Introduction Purpose of the manual Operation Manual The Operation Manual explains the two-stage turbocharging (Power2) from ABB Turbo Sys- tems and contains instructions for safe operation. The Operation Manual is a complement to and expansion of existing national regulations for occupational safety, accident prevention and environmental protection.

On V-engines with several low-pressure and/or high-pressure stages per engine, ABB Tur- bocharging recommends the parallel cleaning of the LP compressors as well as the parallel cleaning of the HP compressors.

  • Page 67 Do not clean the compressors of the different high and low-pressure stages at the same time, but one after the other. On V-engines with several low-pressure and/or high-pressure stages per engine, ABB Tur- bocharging recommends the parallel cleaning of the LP compressors as well as the parallel cleaning of the HP compressors.

  • Page 86: Taking Out Of Operation For A Long Period

    The engine lubricating oil is replaced by a preservative oil and circulated with the pre-lub- rication pump before the engine is taken out of operation. If neither of the criteria above are met, mothballing by an ABB Turbocharging Service Station is necessary. This includes cleaning and applying preservative oil to the relevant compon- ents.
