Chapter 3. Enhancing your computer

This chapter provides instructions on how to use hardware devices to expand your computer capabilities.

Finding ThinkPad options

If you want to expand the capabilities of your computer, Lenovo has a number of hardware accessories and
upgrades to meet your needs. Options include memory modules, storage devices, network cards, port
replicators or docking stations, batteries, power adapters, keyboards, mice, and more.

ThinkPad USB–C Dock
The ThinkPad USB-C Dock provides quick and easy connections between your computer and computer
accessories.
Setting up the ThinkPad USB–C Dock
To set up the ThinkPad USB-C Dock, do the following:
1. Connect the power cord to the ac power adapter
2. Connect the power cord to an electrical outlet
3. Connect the ac power adapter to the power connector of the dock
4. Press the power button to turn on the dock
5. Connect one end of the Lenovo USB-C cable to the dock
6. Connect the other end of the Lenovo USB-C cable to the computer
Before you use the dock with the computer, download and install the latest dock driver at:
