Additional Specific Safety Rules for
Rod Cutter
• This threaded rod cutter is intended
for cutting the following materials and
threaded rod sizes: Mild Steel (M6 X 1,
M8 X 1.25, M10 X 1.5, M12 X 1.75).
Stainless Steel (M6 X 1, M8 X 1.25,
M10 X 1.5).
• The dies provided are only used for
the material and sizes specified in the
Applications chart under Intended Use.
• Hold power tool by insulated gripping
surfaces, when performing an operation
where the cutting accessory may contact
hidden wiring. Cutting accessory contacting a
"live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the
power tool "live" and could give the operator an
electric shock.
• Inspect tool and cutting dies before
use. Replace any worn or damaged parts. A
damaged or improperly assembled tool can
break and strike operator or nearby personnel.
• NEVER have any part of your body near
the cutters. A moment of inattention while
operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
• ALWAYS wear gloves when handling
threaded rod. The ends and threads can be
sharp and can cause serious personal injury.
• Firmly secure the piece of metal to be cut
to prevent movement during cutting.
• Always wear safety shoes to protect your
feet from sharp metal debris on the floor.
• Keep all screws tight. Check periodically for
loosening.
• Do not place anything into the motor housing
openings.
• Stay clear of end pieces that may fall after
cutting off. They may be hot, sharp and/or
heavy.
• Air vents often cover moving parts and
should be avoided. Loose clothes, jewelry or
long hair can be caught in moving parts.

Residual Risks

In spite of the application of the relevant safety
regulations and the implementation of safety
devices, certain residual risks cannot be avoided.
These are:
– Impairment of hearing.
– Risk of personal injury due to flying particles.
– Risk of burns due to accessories becoming hot
during operation.
– Risk of personal injury due to prolonged use.

The date code, which also includes the year of
manufacture, is printed into the housing surface that
forms the mounting joint between tool and battery.
