Cleaning/changing the air filter

If the air filter becomes clogged, it may cause poor engine
performance. Therefore, every time after using the Power Cutter,
be sure to clean the air filter in the following way.
• Turn the cover lock to the left and remove it.
• Remove the top cover after blowing off dust from it.
• Next, remove the prefilter.
• Wash the prefilter in water-diluted detergent, and dry them
completely. Do not squeeze or rub the prefilter when washing.
• Apply 40 ml of new 2-stroke/4-stroke engine oil onto the
prefilter, grasp it softly to disperse engine oil evenly.
• Set the prefilter into the top cover firmly.
• With aligning the top cover's tooth with the counter part of the
housing, tighten the cover lock.
In addition to the cleaning above, perform following steps when
the interval listed in "Maintenance chart" passes.
• Remove the four star-shaped screws.
• Remove the filter cover.
• Remove the air filter.
• Remove the dust bag filter from the filter cover and gently tap
and blow on it to clean.
• Gently tap and blow on the inner filter to remove dirt and dust.
Also, periodically wash the inner filter in soapy water and dry
thoroughly.
• To clean the air filter tap it gently. If an air compressor is to be
used, blow the compressed air onto the inside of the air filter.
Do not wash the air filter.
• Blow off dust from around the filters.
• Reassemble the air filter to filter cover once cleaning is
finished. Set the air filter onto the filter cover first when setting
the filter cover.
• Tighten the cover lock firmly.
Notice:
• Do not wash the air filter with water.
• Replace worn or damaged fiters with new ones.
• Do not wash fiters with gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or
the like.
