ENGLISH PREPARING FOR USE Machine Packaging The original packaging has been designed and constructed to protect the machine during transport. We recommend keeping the packaging material for possible future transport. Machine Installation Remove the drip tray with grill from the packaging. Remove the machine from the packaging. - Page 13 ENGLISH Press gently on the side of the water tank door to release the handgrip. Remove the water tank by pulling it by the handgrip. Rinse the water tank with fresh water. Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the MAX level and reinsert it into the machine.

ENGLISH Note: By keeping the button pressed for more than 8 seconds, the machine enters the demo mode. To exit the demo, disconnect the power cord and turn the machine back on. The control panel indicates that the circuit must be primed. Saeco Adapting System Coff ee is a natural product and its characteristics may change according to its origin, blend and roast. The machine is equipped with a self-adjusting system that allows the use of all types of coff ee beans available on the market, except for raw, caramelized and fl avoured coff ee beans. -

ENGLISH CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Daily Cleaning of the Machine Caution: Timely cleaning and maintenance of your machine is very important as it prolongs the life of your machine. The machine is continuously exposed to humidity, coff ee and limescale! The activities you need to perform and their frequency are described in detail in this chapter. -

ENGLISH Daily Cleaning of the Milk Carafe In addition to the quick carafe rinse cycle, we recommend that you also clean the carafe daily as described below. This preserves hygiene and ensures a perfect frothed milk consistency. Press one of the release buttons to remove the top of the carafe as shown in the fi gures (A or B). - Page 57 ENGLISH Wash the suction tube with the fi tting thoroughly with fresh water. After installing the suction tube with the fi tting, insert the dispensing spout on the top of the carafe. If you cannot install the dispenser at the top of the carafe, the pin is in the wrong position (B).

Weekly Cleaning of the Milk Carafe The weekly cleaning is more thorough since all milk residues are removed from the carafe dispenser. - Page 59 ENGLISH Remove the lid. Lift the dispensing spout to remove it from the top of the carafe. The milk carafe dispenser is made up of six parts that must be disassem- bled. Each part is indicated by a capital letter (A, B, C, D, E, F) as shown in the fi gures below.

ENGLISH Weekly Cleaning of the Brew Group The brew group should be cleaned every time the coff ee bean hopper is fi lled or at least once a week. Turn off the machine by pressing the “ ” button and unplug the power cord. - Page 64 ENGLISH Let the brew group air-dry thoroughly. Thoroughly clean the coff ee duct outlet with the special cleaning tool supplied with the machine or with a spoon handle. Make sure that the cleaning tool is inserted as shown in the fi gure. Thoroughly clean the inside of the machine using a soft, dampened cloth.

Page 73: Monthly Cleaning Of The Brew Group With "Coff Ee Oil Remover
The “Coff ee Oil Remover” tablets are to be used for cleaning only and do not have a descaling function. For the descaling procedure use the Saeco descaling solution and follow the procedure described in the “Descaling” chapter. Place a container under the coff ee dispensing spout. - Page 74 ENGLISH Put a “Coff ee Oil Remover” tablet in the pre-ground coff ee compart- ment. Press the “ ” button to select the pre-ground coff ee function. Do not add any ground coff ee. Press the “ ” button to start a coff ee brewing cycle. Wait until the machine has dispensed half a cup of water.
