Your FlashStation can work with up to two expansion units (RX1217sas or RX2417sas) for additional storage

Connect Expansion Units to FlashStation
1 Connect one end of the expansion cable to the port on your FS3017 Expansion Card, and the other to the
SAS IN port of Synology Expansion Unit RX1217sas/RX2417sas. Please make sure that the release band (in
blue) of the cable faces rightward when plugging onto the FS3017 Expansion Card, and that of the cable faces
upward when plugging into the expansion unit; otherwise, the FlashStation and expansion units will not be
correctly connected.
Do not lift the cover on the lower port of your Synology FS3017 Expansion Card. The two expansion units

2 Log in to DiskStation Manager (DSM) of your FlashStation, and launch
